A Faulkner County resident was killed in a crash with farm equipment on Interstate 30 on Thursday, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday, 75-year-old Jerry Tucker of Quitman was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado west on I-30 near the 67 mile marker in Arkadelphia when he crossed the centerline and hit a Volvo tractor that had been driving east.
“Both vehicles [left] the roadway to the south into the grass median,” the ASP report stated. “Upon leaving the roadway, [the tractor] came to final rest facing west. Upon leaving the roadway, [the Silverado] crossed the grass median and struck the cable barrier on the eastbound side of Interstate 30 and came to final rest facing west.”
Authorities described the road as dry and the weather as clear.
There have been at least 184 fatalities on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary data.
