The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Arkansas Blood Institute and the Little Rock Zoo to host a blood drive next week.
The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 12 at the sheriff’s office training room, which is located at the back of the Faulkner County Courthouse in downtown Conway.
Organizers are hoping at least 20 residents will donate.
As an incentive, FCSO spokesman Erinn Stone said organizers are handing out free T-shirts and a Little Rock Zoo voucher for each individual who donates blood next week.
“Last year, we reached our goal of 20 people coming in to donate blood; we want to be able to beat it again this year and hopefully get more and more people as the years go on,” Stone said.
FCSO has partnered with ABI and the Little Rock Zoo to host this drive for four years.
While the drive is set up by appointments, Stone said organizers will accept walk-ins on July 12.
To schedule an appointment, potential donors are asked to call Stone at 501-450-4914 at extension 218.
The theme for the 2019 blood drive is “Summer Vibes & Saving Lives.”
Stone said she encourages residents to donate next week.
“Blood banks are always needing to keep a large supply of blood in case of emergencies,” she said. “It is for a good cause, and plus [that] you get a free T-shirt and a ticket to the zoo.”
