Two students from Faulkner County were recently awarded scholarships through Central Baptist College.

More than $60,000 in money was given to selected recipients including:

National Miss GMA (Girls Missionary Auxiliary) Sara McGee, who was presented with $32,000 from CBC Vice President for Advancement Sancy Faulk, during the National GMA Camp at Daniel Springs Baptist Camp in Gary, Texas. McGee attends Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier. National Mr. Senior Galilean Andrew Krisell, who was presented with $32,000 from CBC Personal Admissions Officer Blake Pittman during National Galilean Camp at Stoneridge Baptist Camp in Smithville, Ark. Krisell attends Immanuel Baptist Church in Greenbrier.

“Central Baptist College is proud to be a partner with several BMA [Baptist Ministry Association] organizations and events by providing college scholarships,” CBC officials said. “Our team has traveled many miles in the past few weeks and we are a little tired, but we are so very encouraged and blessed by the youth of the BMA of America.”

President Terry Kimbrow also recently made his way to SOAR (Sold Out And Radical) – a three-day conference designed for students in junior high to college that draws thousands a year – at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, Texas.

There, the CBC representative was able to award three, $10,000 scholarships.

“Students signed up at the CBC table during the conference and juniors and seniors were placed into a random drawing for the scholarships,” CBC officials said.

The three recipients were as follows:

Braden Marlow from Southgate Baptist Church in Moore, Okla. Brett Miller from Hope Fellowship in Frisco, Texas. Hannah Varnado from Canaan Baptist Church in Franklinton, La.
