U.S. Sen. John Boozman visited with Conway Area Chamber of Commerce members Tuesday morning to discuss legislative efforts to encourage economic growth, increase employment and create a business-friendly environment.
Chamber members’ insights help voice local businesses needs and allow officials to understand how to address those needs, the senator said.
“I’m proud of the work we’re doing in Washington to support American workers and employers,” Boozman said Tuesday. “Historic tax reform and regulatory relief is creating a strong foundation for economic growth. We look to organizations like the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce that are the voice of the businesses in our community for input on what we can do to support job creators in order to build a strong economy.”
Learning how the legislature’s moves have impacted local residents helps officials understand if their decisions have improved local business sectors, he said.
“It’s great to hear the positive impact that federal policies are having in Conway,” Boozman said. “We can be proud of the chamber’s efforts to support the community.”
Jamie Gates, CACC executive vice president, said the discussion helped showcase the willingness both municipal and state leaders have to work together in building communities.
“We are pleased that Sen. Boozman visited Conway to meet with community business leaders,” he said. “Sen. Boozman and his staff are unmatched in their level of service and accessibility. This conversation is another example of their availability and outreach to listen to Arkansans and create policies that support our region.”
