A Conway man is suspected in the Wednesday killing of a Booneville woman.

The Booneville Police Department was called around 8 a.m. Wednesday regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence on E. South Street.

Once on scene, officers found 22-year-old Rachel King dead in her home. Her three children were still at the home with her.

Authorities pin pointed 27-year-old Morgan Weatherford as a person of interest in this case, and he was ultimately arrested by the Conway Police Department and later transferred to Logan County for further questioning.

Online records show he was booked into the Faulkner County Detention Center at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday and transferred to Logan County at 8:07 p.m. Wednesday.

King’s vehicle was located Wednesday near the KFC in Booneville. Police believe that Weatherford left King’s home in her car.

Boonveille police said Friday that while the investigation continues a no charges have been filed at this time, the department is thankful for the support it received from other departments across the state as this case unfolded.

“The investigation is still ongoing and is being investigated by our department and the Arkansas State Police,” officials said Friday. “We would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance in our investigation: Arkansas State Police, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Highway Police, Conway Police Department, Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Probation and Parole and the Yell County Sheriff’s Office.”
