A motion hearing for a 21-year-old Quitman woman, accused of killing her 24-year-old boyfriend, has been continued.

Jamie Lynn Leach was scheduled to appear before Faulkner County Circuit Judge Ed Clawson on Thursday morning, however, her motion hearing was continued to Jan. 2, at the request of her defense.

Leach was charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 20, 2012 death of Cody Bradley. Faulkner County authorities located Bradley at the couple’s residence, naked, in a bathtub, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

Leach’s defense attorney, Frank Shaw, stated the defense requested motion "due to ongoing discussions with the prosecutor in this matter," the motion states.

If convicted of first-degree murder, a class Y felony, Leach would face 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
