The Conway school board late yesterday afternoon re-elected B.A. Short superintendent of schools for a three-year term. Mr. Short was instructed to make recommendations for the 1937-38 faculty and the board will elect the teachers at a meeting to be held in about two weeks.
He was also authorized to work out next year’s budget and submit it to the board.
Mr. Short has served as superintendent of Conway schools the past four years. He was principal of the high school several years before he became superintendent.
Lynn McClinton of Conway yesterday was elected the Tulane Law School’s representative to the Tulane University Student Council.
McClinton, a junior, is a son of J.K. McClinton of Conway and the late Mrs. McClinton.
He won the post in a runoff election.
McClinton attended Arkansas State Teachers College three years before enrolling at Tulane Law School.
Grace Thompson, Joyce Lesslie and Kay Lord combined for a 104 last week to win the "Blind Partners" competition by the Women’s Golf Association of Conway Country Club.
Joe and Renee Thrash of Conway have been named 2002 American Soybean Association/DuPont Young Leaders. The program targets soybean farmers like the Thrashers who are innovative, assertive, "young in leadership" and looking to make their mark in agriculture.
