Jamie Boyd, damage prevention manager for Arkansas Utility Protection Services, recently received the 2012 Outstanding Community Leader Award.

Selected from a group of individuals nominated by Conway Morning Rotary members, Boyd was honored for her work with the Faulkner County Women’s Shelter, a non-profit organization for which Boyd has served as Vice President, President, and Chairperson of the Shelter’s annual fundraiser, "The Great Escape."

In selecting Boyd, the service club noted her record of successful leadership in championing the cause of the Shelter, including streamlining the Board’s responsibilities to enable its members to work more effectively and engaging a greater number of community groups in support of the Shelter.

Boyd was cited for her ability to lead objectively, to bring enthusiasm to her position as Board chair, and to remain steadfast in her advocacy of the Shelter by virtue of her dedication to spearheading activities bringing awareness to the Shelter’s work.

The Club presented Ms. Boyd with a certificate at its annual "unbanquet" June 25. Her name will be added to the Outstanding Community Leaders plaque on display in the Faulkner County Courthouse. Judge Rhonda Wood was the 2011 recipient.

Conway Morning Rotary meets 7 a.m. Tuesdays at UCA President’s Dining Hall.
