The Faulkner County Singing Convention will hold its 59th annual session with the Springhill class July 23, 24 and 25. All classes in the county have been urged to send delegates and to help make this the best convention ever had. Special programs will be given on Friday and Saturday nights. The public is invited to attend the convention.
Dayer’s Jewelry Store, formerly located at 923 Front St., this week completed removal to Mrs. D.O. Harton’s Building at 804 Front St.
The new location is in the building until recently occupied by Goodwill Industries store.
Charles Dayer, owner of the jewelry store, remodeled the building before moving his stock.
Dayer said an opening for the new location is planned in about two weeks.
The Greenbrier White team qualified for state competition last weekend by winning the District 10 girls softball tournament at Greenbrier City Park.
Greenbrier won seven games to take the title. Five of those victories came on Saturday.
Hensley’s Auto of Vilonia finished third.
The Greenbrier team will participate in the state tournament at Ashdown this weekend.
Bill and Joan Ethridge of Conway celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently.
The Ethridges were married July 7, 1952, in Conway.
