Mrs. Ivan H. Grove entertained a group of friends with a buffet supper Aug. 19 at her home on Cloveland Street, complimenting Miss Jean Weld of New York City, who is visiting Miss Myrtle Charles and Miss Vivian Hill. A color motif of green and white was carried out in the floral decorations used throughout the interior. The table was covered with green organdy over white with a central ornamental piece in the chosen colors. Miss Weld and Miss Maggie Denison of Arkadelphia, a special guest, were presented gifts.

Three part-time instructors are serving in the Department of Economics and Business at Hendrix College during the first semester.

They are Robert W. Henry, a Conway attorney; E.W. Martin, treasurer of the college and a certified public accountant, and Mrs. Albert M. Raymond, wife of the assistant professor of chemistry and biology at Hendrix.

The trio will assume classes formerly taught by John Shock, who resigned his college teaching position to enter private business.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McGinty of Greenbrier will celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception in August at their home.

The couple were married Aug. 25, 1937. Mrs. McGinty is the former Josie Powell.

The reception was hosted by the couple’s nieces and nephews. Friends and relatives were invited.

Fellowship Bible Church’s Red team recently won the Division III men’s church league title in the Conway Parks and Recreation Department League. Team members are Gier Henderson, Brian Stewart, captain Mark Abbott, Shane Griffith, bat boy Cade Griffith, Steven Henderson, Justin Shell, Brad Graham, Carey Allison, Matt Steinfeld, Barrett Greer, Scott Allison, Kenneth Kimble, Dean Keith, Erik Johnson and David Williams.
