The Wednesday Duplicate Club met yesterday with Mrs. Frank E. Robins at her home on Locust Avenue. Roses, zinnias and marigolds were arranged in the hall, drawing room and solarium and interesting games were played during the afternoon with Mrs. Frank E, Robins Jr. making high score. A hot supper with a dessert and coffee was served at the social hour.

Enrollment for the 1962-63 session in Vilonia schools has reached 485, according to Earl Tweedle, superintendent. This is slightly over the corresponding period last year.

Tweedle said the high school enrollment is 188 and 105 are in the Liberty school. The registration in the Vilonia elementary grades is 192.

Last year’s total enrollment was 477.

Derrick Colbert of Conway was recently named an Outstanding Young Man of America for 1987 for his professional achievement, leadership and service to the community.

Mr. Colbert is a son of Daisy Jacob of Conway and Eddie Colbert of Crossett (Ashley County). He is employed by the Department of Human Services at Alexander (Pulaski County). He also is minister of music at Mount Gale Baptist Church in Conway and is assistant pianist for the Middle Western District East Wing Singing Union.

Mr. Colbert is a 1981 graduate of Crossett High School and attended the University of Central Arkansas, the University of Arkansas at Monticello and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Residents who have adopted animals from the Faulkner County Humane Society posed with volunteers of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and their little brothers and sisters during the kick off of the Bigs ‘n’ Littles Partner for Pets project. The project allows the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization to interview pet adopters and find out the personalities of the pets that are adopted. The groups plan to develop a book based on the reports at the end of the year.
