Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Alpha Omega

Laureate Alpha Omega chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Dec. 11 for the annual Christmas Party and secret sister gift exchange at the home of Vernelle Crews with all 14 members present.

The group enjoyed a dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, carrots, slaw, biscuits and cornbread, which was provided by the social committee.

Crews, president, led the opening ritual and called the business meeting to order. Service chairman Judy Schultz announced that the chapter had provided gifts for two names from the Santa for Seniors tree and that gifts for six others were provided by individual members. The service project for January will be clothing for the emergency room at Conway Regional Medical Center, and a future project will be the activity closet at Children’s Hospital. The group also made a donation to the Log Cabin Democrat Community Christmas Card.

Several members would like to attend the performance of "A Chorus Line" at UCA in January. Tickets will be reserved for those interested.

Following the meeting, members exchanged secret sister Christmas gifts and enjoyed dessert of cheesecake and coffee. Mary Williams gave each sister a 2013 calendar from the Friends of the Conway Animal Shelter and the hostess had made candy sleighs for everyone. The evening closed with members repeating the closing ritual and Mizpah.
