The Conway Shakespeare Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, at the home of Sharon Thompson.
Co-hostesses will be Anne Crow and Eloise Raymond. Sara Galvin and Claudia Davis will present a program on William Sydney Porter, better known by the pen name of O. Henry.
The Alpha Iota Chapter of Kappa Kappa Iota met Monday evening, Feb. 4, at the Dudeck Conference Center in east Conway.
Clara Rose Simon, treasurer, introduced the special guest speaker, Robie Davis. Mrs. Davis is a 31-year retired educator from Conway and is currently enjoying a second career as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. She explained the application and interview process and the training required. She then shared with the Kappas what it was like to work for a leading airline. She told of some of her experiences and shared pictures. Mrs. Davis’ presentation was very enlightening and entertaining.
President Amber Horn announced that the Arkansas Epsilon State KKI meeting will be April 20, hosted by the Greenwood Chapter.
The conference room was decorated with Valentine décor. The serving table was covered with a white cloth with a red and white overlay cloth with hearts on it. Hostesses served crackers with cheese, trail mix, tuna sandwiches, banana split cake, mini cherry cheesecake, and assorted drinks. Hostesses were Elizabeth Humphrey, Sandy Mason and Bronnie Rose.
Doretta Bright received the door prize from the hostesses which was a hummingbird feeder. Danette Fiddler won the raffle item, which contained two Valentine mugs filled with chocolate Hershey’s Kisses and two packages of instant coffee.
The next meeting of the chapter will be at 6 p.m. on March 4 at the home of Terri Seiter.
The theme of the program will be “Easter Décor.” Assisting Mrs. Seiter as hostesses will be Karen Matthews and Linda Wall. Members should bring $1 for the raffle item and $1 for the Arkansas Epsilon State Scholarship.
