Mr. and Mrs. Charles McClain (Charlie and Betty) are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary with a trip to Branson, a gift from their daughters, Pat McClain of Sheridan and Brenda McClain of Conway.
Charles and Betty were married by the Rev. John Golden Nov. 19, 1946, in Hannibal, Mo. The couple moved to Arkansas in 1972 and made their home in West Conway. Charles now retired, was employed by Pearce Construction and also built homes on his own. While still in Hannibal, Betty quit work to become a stay-at-home mom. She did volunteer work for the school’s health care program and worked as a scout leader and director. Charles and Betty also have a granddaughter, Cindy Puckett. Cindy and her husband, John, along with their three children, Morgan, Bryanna and Zachary, live in Quincy, Ill.
