Alyssa Hope Barnum and Jacob Lawrence Seiter, both of Conway, were married Friday, June 3, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. The Rev. James Melnick officiated the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Kristi Massey of Conway and Jeffery Barnum of Gilbert, Ariz. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Davis and Mae Barnum and the late Tony Barnum of Greers Ferry.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Seiter of Conway and a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Simon and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Seiter of Conway.

Church doors were adorned with grapevine wreaths entwined with ribbon, calla lilies and greenery.

Carly Cowan and Natalie Shelton of Conway attended the bride’s book.

In the sanctuary, floor length bows marked the pews. Grecian columns with crystal vases filled with bells of Ireland and hot pink and lime green Gerber daisies flanked the altar. Wrought iron candelabras completed the setting.

Nuptial music was provided by Jeff Shachmut of Conway. Angela Greenland of Conway was vocalist.

Scripture readings were by Rachel Sievers of Little Rock, sister of the groom, and Janet Finch of El Dorado, cousin of the groom. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the bride’s grandmother, Cleta Davis, read a poem that she had written for the couple.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory satin gown. The fitted bodice accented with a lace overlay embellished with seed pearls flared at the knee into a full train. Her veil was edged with rhinestones and pearls. She wore a pearl necklace and earrings, gifts of the groom. Her bouquet consisted of long stemmed pink Gerber daisies and peonies with ribbon and an heirloom handkerchief.

Maids of honor were Raegan Massey, sister of the bride, and Kami Curtis, both of Conway. Bridesmaids were Amy Bowen, Krystle Kordsmeier and Courtney Utley of Conway. Junior bridesmaid was Brookelle Barnum of Gilbert, Ariz., sister of the bride. Flower girls were Brynna Barnum of Gilbert, Ariz., sister of the bride, and Emily Cole. The bridesmaids wore black satin strapless knee length dresses with pleated bodices. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Nathan and Caleb Seiter of Conway, brothers of the groom, both served as best man. Groomsmen included Clark Kordsmeier and Chris Nielsen of Conway and Jason Tipton of Little Rock. Ring bearers were Matthew Seiter of Conway, nephew of the groom, and Jordan Cole.

Ushers were Aaron Seiter of Heber Springs and Joel Seiter of Conway, brothers of the groom, Daniel Baker and Chastin Hunt of Greers Ferry, cousins of the bride, and Nick Sartain of Conway.

For her daughter’s wedding, Ms. Massey chose a black organza knee length ruffled dress with matching jacket. The mother of the groom wore a floor length green iridescent satin gown with matching jacket.

Sarah McMillian of Conway, sister of the groom, was wedding coordinator.

After the wedding, the bride and groom traveled to the Knights of Columbus Hall for the reception in a vintage red GTO convertible driven by J. J. Palmer of Conway.

The walls and ceiling of the reception hall were draped with sheer white fabric originating from the chandelier in the middle of the hall. The mantle held a large arrangement of bells of Ireland, white gladiolus, green Fuji mums, pink Gerber daisies, and snap dragons in a ginger jar filled with limes. A round table covered with layers of black tulle and miniature lights held the square three tier, flower-trimmed wedding cake.

Guests were served a buffet of beef brisket, shrimp cocktail, chicken salad, green beans, potato casserole, spinach dip, fruit and rolls. In the beverage area were mixed nuts, sausage, cheese and crackers.

Tables were covered with black cloths some with pink and green runners and centered with mirrors on which sat tall cylinders with swirls of cymbidiums. Other tables held globes of pink peonies. Crystals of various sizes were scattered on the tables.

Assorted candies in glass topiaries, chocolate covered strawberries and miniature cupcakes were available at a dessert station accented with hot pink spot lights.

The evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Oak Street Bistro.

After a honeymoon to Cancun, the couple is at home in Metairie, La.
