The Faulkner County Finance and Administration committee will present a resolution to the Quorum Court authorizing County Judge Preston Scroggin to apply for a grant for the Wooster Volunteer Fire Department. The grant, through the Arkansas Rural Community Grant Program, will allow for the purchase of one or more 5-foot supply hoses and equipment. The fire department has secured $10,705 to match the grant. The total amount of the state grant will also be $10,705.

In other business, the committee will propose about $18,000 in renovations to the Faulkner County Courts Building. Justice of the Peace Dan Thessing said the building has panels of wood that have rotted and sustained termite damage. The renovations will also include new storm windows for the building as well as a privacy fence for the rear of the building. Thessing said a new roof was recently purchased for the rear portion of the facility. The money will be appropriated from the county general fund to the county’s building and improvement fund. The courts building houses the 2nd and 5th Division Circuit Courts.
