Bethlehem House will host the Conway appearance of Paul Young, author of "The Shack." Young will speak at the event-fundraiser for the shelter on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Bible Church, 105 Hogan Lane. The appearance was originally scheduled for the Conway Campus of New Life Church.
Young is the author of the # 1 New York Times bestseller that explores the question, "Where is God in a world of pain?" The Shack is a phenomenal success having sold over six million copies. Young’s novel, set in the Oregon wilderness, "is a metaphor," he says, "for the place we keep all of our pain, sorrow, abuse and disappointments about life."
Advance tickets are being sold for $20 each in Conway at the Conway Chamber of Commerce, downtown, at Advanced Physical Therapy on Clayton Street, behind the Walgreen’s at Oak and Harkrider, Dayer Jewelers at 804 Front Street and at Bethlehem House at 930 Faulkner Street. A book signing will follow the speech. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 each.
There is limited availability for a Meet and Greet Reception with the author earlier in the evening. This special event will be held at First Security Bank from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Ticket are $75 and include heavy hors devours and admission to the main event. Call Bethlehem House at 501-329-4862 for tickets to the Meet and Greet.
