The Faulkner County Republican Women will host their first fundraising dinner Aug. 25 with J. French Hill, as the guest speaker.
The event, which will be at 6 p.m. in the Simon Intermediate School Cafeteria, will raise money to help Faulkner County Republican candidates, according to Mozella Flucht, who is helping organize the event.
Flucht said she heard Hill speak at a Pulaski County Republican Women’s meeting.
"I thought he would be an ideal person to be the speaker," Flucht said. "He is an outstanding person. I was very impressed with him and he would make a most outstanding candidate for Congressman."
Hill serves a chairman and chief executive officer of Delta Trust and Banking Corporation. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for First Commercial Corporation of Little Rock. He began his banking career with First National Bank of Dallas.
Hill graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor of science in economics.
Flucht said Hill had served both of the Presidents Bush during their terms in the White House. In 1993, he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for leadership at the Department of Treasury and the White House.
The organization has had a good response for tickets to the event so far, according to Flucht. The event fulfills a portion of the Faulkner County Republican Women’s by-laws by helping to raise money for candidates.
"We have never had a fund raiser like this with a dinner and a speaker. I am very excited," Flucht said.
Dinner reservations are $25 per person and must be made by Aug. 19. For more information, contact Flucht at 501-470-1752 or Wanda Morris at 501-513-2617.
