Corrective action has been taken regarding the conduct of officer Joseph Grantham of the Vilonia Police Department, according to a media release issued by Vilonia Chief of Police Brad McNew.

Grantham is still employed by the department, according to this release. McNew wouldn’t comment on the nature of the corrective action when contacted Friday afternoon.

According to statements from Grantham taken by Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office deputies and included in a FCSO incident report released Tuesday, Grantham admitted that while on duty and in uniform Sunday night, he slashed a tire of his wife’s vehicle after an altercation at a Vilonia residence and followed her a short distance in his patrol car as she drove down Highway 64 at a slow speed.

His wife, who is employed by another law enforcement agency, called her supervisor during the incident, according to the FCSO report. This supervisor placed her in contact with FCSO dispatch. According to the FCSO incident report, she later "stated that throughout this incident she felt threatened and as if she was in danger."
