An armed robbery occurred at a Shell gas station on East Oak Street this morning.
Officer Sharen Carter, spokesman for the Conway Police Department, said an employee was opening up the business at 5:30 a.m., when a car pulled up to the gas pumps as if to get gas. Two black males were inside. The passenger got out, and the employee hurried to ready the store for customers, Carter said. The passenger pulled out a handgun and demanded money, to which the employee complied. The two suspects left without further incident. There were no injuries.
Carter said the suspect vehicle was described as a small, dark, four-door car. The passenger had on a dark gray ski mask and light brown or golden coveralls or overalls, she said. The robbery is under investigation.
“At 5:30, that’s a time that people start going to work, so maybe somebody saw something,” Carter said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 450-6120.
Coulson Oil of Little Rock is the owner of the Shell station, according to an employee.
