The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce will recognize individuals and businesses during its annual banquet on March 4.

Awards that will be given out include the Distinguished Service Award, the Good Neighbor Award, the Get Smart/Go Green Award, the Business of the Year Award, Business Executive of the Year and Young Business Leader Awards.

Individuals and businesses in the Conway area exhibiting active leadership roles, dedication of time and talents, advances in sustainability, continued growth and community involvement will be honored at a banquet at the University of Central Arkansas’ HPER Center.

The banquet, according to Kathy Wyrick, vice president of investor relations for the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, is the Chamber’s largest meeting of the year. Wyrick said more than 700 people attend each year.
Tickets to attend the event may be purchased for $50 per individual or a table for $500.

Nominations will be submitted to a panel consisting of impartial members of the Chamber and must be a member in good standing with the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, with the exception of the Distinguished Service and Good Neighbor awards.

“Being chosen as a business of the year from your peers or other business leaders in the community is a huge honor,” Wyrick said. “The same thing goes with the Good Neighbor Award. The award goes to someone who has given his or her time — someone who really exemplifies outstanding public service to our community. I think each award in its unique way would be a tremendous honor to the recipient.”

To nominate an individual or business, contact Wyrick at 327-7788 or submit nominations by e-mail to The deadline for nominations is 3 p.m. Friday.
