Representative Jane English has announced that she will seek reelection to the House of Representatives in District 42, which encompasses parts of northern Pulaski and eastern Faulkner Counties.

"It is an honor for me to serve in the Arkansas Legislature," English said in a news release. "After my experience working in government and the private sector to bring more jobs to Arkansas communities and to strengthen the economy in central Arkansas and statewide, I was able to hit the ground running and deliver real results for the people of District 42.

"I will continue to work for greater accountability of tax payers’ money, no tax or fee increases and no new laws that work to control tax payers’ lives. I will also continue my work in Faulkner County with state agencies, county officials, mayors and citizens to build a new flood proof road for Rogers Estates residents, and to develop a water shed plan to assure the continued viability of Lake Conway.

"My many years associated with state government have helped me to identify an issue and to bring the right people at the state and local level together to solve our problems," English stated in her release.

English has served as executive director of the Arkansas Manufacturers Association (1998-2001) and as executive director of the Arkansas Workforce Investment Board (2001-2004), where she focused on improving educational and training opportunities for Arkansans to meet the demands of the 21st century workplace.

She served in the Arkansas Department of Economic Development (1984-1997) and as executive director of the Fort Chaffee Public Trust (1997-98), where she oversaw the redevelopment plan for the former military base near Fort Smith.
