Hello, everyone. Here is some information you have been waiting for.

Cinemark has announced details about the 12-screen theater opening in November at the Conway Towne Centre. As you are aware, this will replace the Cinema 6 theater, which was closed Feb. 21 and recently demolished.

The new theater is to be three times the size of the old one and will have stadium seating, high-backed rocking seats with extra aisle space and digital sound. Also, you will be able to buy your ticket online and print it at a kiosk at the theater or use a credit card at the kiosk to purchase your ticket.

The theater will also feature a Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium, which will have a wall-to-wall and floor-to ceiling screen, digital sound and digital images. It will show 2D and 3D movies.

By the way, a groundbreaking ceremony for the new theater will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Upscale restaurant planned

Last week on Dave Ward Drive west of Donaghey Avenue a sign went up, indicating the future site of The Plaza at Centerstone. This is a multi-phase development by Salter Properties. Brent Salter said the first phase will consist of an 11,200-square-foot building with a 1,000-square-foot patio on the side. He has worked for a year on getting the property rezoned from quiet office to general retail.

An upscale Chinese restaurant, The Peiking, will be the first occupant. It will have a large aquarium, flat-screen televisions and a party room available for rent. The remaining 4,200 square feet is still available for lease.

Salter said additional phases will expand the development to the south and east. It will have a fountain, plaza, great landscaping and four buildings. It will all be walkable and will have a sitting area where people can relax and stay a while.

and more chicken

New to the strip center at 625 Salem Road is Chicken City, owned by John Hilger. It is a Tyson discount store selling the same kinds of products that Tyson sells to restaurants. Hilger said you can get pretty much the same thing you get at a lot of your favorite chains for a lot cheaper. Everything is frozen in 5-pound bags. There are freezers full of things like chicken strips, buffalo tenders, wings, boneless/skinless fillets, drumsticks, etc. He has some non-chicken extras too, like onion rings and cheesecake.

Chicken City will open Monday or Tuesday.

Around town

Mark and Stacy Crone have closed The Brewery due to health problems. If you were not aware of the name, The Brewery was the little coffee shop on the roundabout by Conway High School-West. They said they have been blessed and they appreciate all their customers.

Kidz University at 2130 Spring Valley Drive is expanding and moving its pre-kindergarten and school-age programs into a new building next door at 2100 Spring Valley Drive. The move is slated for late May.
