Thankfully, this week went a whole lot better than last. My Nanny is doing better, and I’ve actually been able to get a little rest.
I also tried a new workout this week. I know it may be hard to believe, but I did yoga.
A co-worker and I were talking about it, and after taking a look at the local library’s website, we decided to venture to the free yoga class held at the library each week.
By no means was I the most graceful one there, but I was stoked to find that I was still able to touch my toes! Baby steps here people.
I left feeling very relaxed, and to my surprise, it was actually a really great workout. Who knew stretching every muscle in your entire body would warrant some sweat.
We also found some info about a Zumba class here in town that we’ll be trying out in the coming weeks. It’s not free, but I think the whole "getting a workout while having fun" is definitely appealing. I’ll report back as soon as we do.
Between yoga, Zumba, and a couple trips to the gym each week, I should see some movement on the scale for sure.
Although I stayed the same this week weight-wise, I have managed to make some great changes.
Water is now a part of my daily life. In fact, I’m drinking more than 120 ounces a day. It takes some serious determination, but I’m doing it.
I’ve had just one soda this week, and that’s it. I’m eating leftovers for lunch instead of eating out each day, which is helping my weight, as well as my wallet.
I’m making an effort to cook every night as well. My poor kiddo may not be eating gourmet, but at least it’s good for him.
I know I’m on the right track, if I can just stay motivated and really make this a lifestyle change instead of only a phase.
Before I go, I have a few thank you messages. This week, I was given an eight-page letter full of tips and recipes from a sweet lady, Marilyn. Not only was it an eight-page letter, but it was also hand-written. It blew my mind that someone would take the time and thought to write me. So, Marilyn, thank you so much. You have no idea how much it meant to me.
I plan to include a few of those tips in an upcoming column.
Also, I received a voicemail from a guy named Bo. I appreciate your kind words.
And lastly, a shout out to my girl Haven, who keeps me updated and encouraged with her frequent e-mails. You’re the best!
