With only three events left in the season, the Conway Downtown Partnership’s Concert in Simon Park series will continue on Friday night, featuring local bands Smooth Reflections and Hands Off.
Another concert in the series is scheduled for Sept. 3 and will feature local bands Mayday by Midnight and Gold Diggin’ Mothers.
The series will culminate on Oct. 1 during ArtsFest, a celebration of the many local arts, and will feature performances by the UCA Jazz Band and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
Kim Williams, director of the Conway Downtown Partnership, said the series serves to promote both downtown business and local music and arts.
"It’s just a great way to spend an evening," Williams said. "The concert is free and open to the public and we want to invite everyone downtown on Friday to eat and shop and enjoy the music."
Presenting sponsors for the concert series are Nabholz Properties/Sperry Van Ness, Centennial Bank, Strange Family Properties, Virco, Conway A and P, SignZone and the Conway Downtown Partnership.
Attendants are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
