The Faulkner County Fair Queen Pageant and Talent Competition will be held Aug. 21 at Wooster Elementary.

The winners of each will ride in the Faulkner County Fair Parade on Sept. 21.

The Miss Faulkner County Queen and six senior talent contestants will go on to represent the county at the Arkansas State Fair.

Pageant divisions are by age: 0-18 months, 19-35 months, 3-4 years, 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-15 years and the Miss division, 16-21 years old.

Talent contestant divisions by age are 4-6 years, 7-9 years, and 10-20 years.

Tina Millirons, director of the pageant, said that due to lack of entries in the talent competition, only three contestants in their respective talent categories went on to represent the county at the state fair, though six spots are available.

Categories are instrumental solo, vocal solo, vocal group, dance solo, dance group and variety.

"We’ve not been able to send six talent winners to the state level because we don’t have entries in each of the categories. We’d like more entries this year so that we are well represented," Millirons said. "We’ve always been well represented with our talents, but we’d love to send someone from every category."

Entries for the pageant and talent competition must be turned in by Aug. 18.

Entry forms are available at Kicks Active-Wear, Yours Truly Consignment, Inc. and the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.

Talent registration opens at 9 a.m. Aug. 21, and pageant registration begins at 1 p.m.
