Texas State, which has won four postseason tournament titles in six years, is the favorite in the Southland Conference volleyball race, according to the league's coaches and sports information directors.

Texas State received 13 out of a possible 24 first-place votes in each poll for the overall favorite. It is also the favorite in the West Division.

UCA, 27-3 last year and winner of the regular-season championship, received nine first-place votes and is the favorite in the East. The Sugar Bears were ineligible for postseason last year. They are this season.

UCA's Chloe Smith, the two-time Player of the Year in the conference, and Cristin Curl were named to the preseason first-team all-conference unit. Jessica Hays was voted to the second team.
