LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas Land Commissioner Mark Wilcox has repaid the state for the cost of repairing a private vehicle that was damaged in an accident caused by Wilcox's wife while driving Wilcox's state-issued vehicle.
Wilcox on Wednesday repaid $995.07 to his office's maintenance and operations fund.
His wife — Lisa — was driving Wilcox's state-issued pickup truck when she backed into another pickup in a store parking lot in September 2008. Wilcox says the state-owned truck did not require repairs.
Wilcox says he was told by his management team that it was allowable for his wife to drive the state-provided vehicle.
State Attorney General Dustin McDaniel says he's looking into the matter.
