Daryl Davis, candidate for Greenbrier Schools Board of Directors, Position 2, will run against Greg Oaks.

Davis and his wife, Nikki, have four children attending Greenbrier schools who are active in FFA, FBLA, band and sports.

Davis came to Arkansas on a tour of U.S. Navy duty, and upon retirement, he and his wife chose Greenbrier as a home because of the area’s quality of education.

"We knew our children would receive an invaluable education and be prepared academically to meet their future goals," Davis said.

Davis is employed at Cromwell Architects Engineers as the director of human resources and serves on the executive committee and project/finance administration. He is a retired master chef for the U.S. Navy and served on several tours in the submarine force and the Recruiting Command’s Inspector General’s Office.

He has a bachelor of science degree in management and human resources and a master of science degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas.

"Along with having knowledge of the construction industry, I also understand how to keep quality employees who teach, guide, and mentor our most important asset, our children," Davis said. "We must continue to improve the education of our youth in order to build future leaders and valuable contributors to our society while being good stewards of tax payers’ money. Hiring and maintaining the best teachers is the first and foremost point to giving our children the best education they can receive.

"All children deserve to be happy, feel safe and secure, and to be provided the building blocks to attain their future goals. Teachers makes this happen."
