From the Round Mountain column: Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Barley spent the week in Little Rock visiting their children, Mr. and Mrs. Junior Lusk and Mr. and Mrs. Estes Spears.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Graves and Joe Deal Shelby of Little Rock visited Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Earnhart.
Miss Floy Kuykendall of Oklahoma City and Miss Normal Kuykendall of Little Rock visited their mother, Mrs. Minnie Kuykendall, here last week.
We are like a good many others we hear of over the country — knee deep in grass — and have been trying to keep General Green down. We have had no time to get out and gather news for the past two weeks.

The $1,000 savings bond given away at the St. Joseph Bazaar was won by Ed Daril of North Little Rock. Other winners of prizes included Fay Howard, General Electric washer; Linda Hambuchen, carpenter’s tools; Francis E. Sharrock, bicycles; Louis Moix, $100 in groceries; W. M. Harton, 5-piece bridge set; Mrs. Jo Blackmon, Wittnauer wrist watch; E. J. Troilet, General Electric vacuum cleaner; Gerald Elsinger, 3-piece Samsonite luggage; Dave Allgeyer, 17-jewel Bulova watch; Henry White, crystal punch set and Julius Lee, $25 in merchandise.
Mrs. Frank Koon, mathematics instructor at Conway High School, attended the mathematics institute at the University of Arkansas. The institute lasted six weeks. It dealt mainly with strengthening the viewpoint and approach to teaching mathematics, with emphasis on understanding.

Bill Wilson joined the staff of Counseling Associates Inc. Wilson previously was a coordinator of special projects for the Arkansas Department of Human Services, division of aging and adult services. Wison was a Hendrix College graduate and held a master’s degree from Chapman College.
Julie Jiskra won the women’s overall title in the Persistence of Spirit 8K run in downtown Little Rock. Nancy Cunningham of Conway was second overall.

New officers of the Faulkner County chapter of Circle of Friends attended campaign training at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. Tami McConnell and Donna Sossamon, chairpersons, attended the session. Circle of Friends was an organization in which members worked to promote children’s health through education, advocacy and fundraising for Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the state’s only pediatric medical facility.
Greenbrier High School Homecoming activities were announced. Members of the court included Lana Fulmer, LeAnn Grissom, Lindsey Robinson, Brittany Felkins, Jennifer Robinson, Cosby Jolley and Jessica Woodrome.
