Conway police arrested two men Tuesday after a witness observed them breaking into a neighbor’s home and called 9-1-1.
William Roby, 18, of 1529 Davis St. #2 in Conway, and Quincy Chambers, 19, of 1715 S. Poplar St., in Pine Bluff, were arrested for residential burglary and theft of property after Conway police stopped their vehicle shortly after the alleged incident.
According to the report, officers responded to a burglary in progress on Davis Street. The caller stated that he was actively observing two black males stealing property from his neighbor. The witness said the suspects left in a green Saturn.
As Conway police were en route to the scene, they spotted the vehicle traveling south on Front Street and initiated a traffic stop at First Security Bank.
Officers noticed several flat screen televisions in the back seat of the vehicle and detained the suspects. Police were able to make contact with the victim, who described the stolen property. The description matched the property found in the vehicle. Officers recovered a Cooler Master computer processing unit, a 26-inch Hewlett-Packard flat screen computer monitor, a Microsoft computer mouse, a Microsoft keyboard and a 32-inch RCA flat screen television with wiring.
Officers determined that the suspects gained entry to the residence by breaking the bedroom window.
The victim arrived at the bank and was able to reclaim the stolen property. Both men were transported to Faulkner County Detention Center Unit II.
