Audra Smith said she cried for four days after a fire destroyed her family home at 9 Fox Lane on Dec. 22.
But the outpouring of help and concern from the community has her smiling and most appreciative, she said Tuesday.
"Right now, we’re doing good," she said. "The response has been wonderful. I haven’t looked through everything yet, so I don’t know what we still need or what we don’t need."
The family, husband Marvin Naranjo, William, 2; and Makalya, 10, will be staying at the Fairfield Inn Marriott for 2 weeks, a gift from the hotel.
"They even fixed up a play pen for William," she said.
Those still wishing to help might consider giving to the Audra Smith Fire Fund at any First Security location.
Smith said she wished she could thank personally all those in Conway who helped, and especially the people at Stromboli’s who opened a drop-off point for donations, Lisa Burks who helped set up the bank account and the people at the Fairfield Inn Marriott.
"We appreciate it all, a lot," she said.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
