Jalon Hughes, a Sophmore at Conway High School East will be attending a National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security (NYLF/NS): Exploring American Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 22-26.
Hughes is the son of Yolanda Carman and Mark Hughes. As a sophomore at Conway High School Arkansas he has been preparing himself academically by taking advance placement courses to prepare him for college work. He is a member of the Conway High School football and baseball teams where he exhibits good athletic abilities and team spirit on and off the field. Next, he is a member of the Choosing to Excel Men Of Character and Quality (M.O.C.Q) program. As a member of M.O.C.Q, Jalon attends conferences and outings and meets with other members of M.O.C.Q. on weekly bases to discuss what it means to be a leader and what it takes to have good character. In addition, he is member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church where he serves as an active member within the music ministry and youth department. Last, Jalon is a member of the Kappa League sponsored by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. As a member of the Kappa League Jalon learns how to develop and enhance his leadership skills through community service and meetings.
