Arkansas State Police responded to a wreck that had traffic snarled on Interstate 40 around exit 129 Thursday evening just outside of Conway.
According to Trooper Coty Williams, Faulkner County attorney Stephan Hawks was driving east in the left lane when a car cut him off. To avoid a collision with the car, Hawks swerved into the median and lost control of his vehicle.
A second vehicle traveling westbound collided with Hawk’s vehicle as he tried to avoid a head-on collision. The cars hit passenger side to passenger side, but no one was seriously injured. The female driver of the car was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Williams said witnesses on the scene reported that Hawks was not at fault for the collision.
