Mrs. Harriett C. Rowlett received her appointment and took over the duties of postmaster at Guy yesterday, succeeding Charles J. Weatherly, who resigned. Mrs. Rowlett, who is the wife of J. Mose Rowlett, well known Guy farmmer and political leader, has been active in club work and P.T.A. affairs in the county.

Pat Lachowsky and Sammy A. McKaskle, both of Conway, will represent the Alpha Delta chapter of Phi Beta Lambda of Arkansas State Teachers College at the state convention of Future Business Leaders of america as contestants for Mr. and Miss Future Business Executive. Miss Lachowsky is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lachowsky. She is a junior at ASTC. Miss Lachowsky has also been elected president of Delta Zeta sorority at ASTC. Mr. McKaskle is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKaskle of near Greenbrier.

Cub Scout Pack 71 held its annual Pinewood Derby on monday evening in McHenry Fellowship Center at First United Methodist Church.
Twenty Cubs entered the competition.
Winners in the race were Daniel Cloclasure, first place; Jim bob Lisenby, second place; and Michael Moix, third place.
Judges were Mayor bill Wright and Dr. Darrell Hutchins.

Vilonia High School captured the overall sweepstakes competition of the 27th annual University of Arkansas at Monticello High School Speech Festival last week
Vilonia took one of the three top spots in public address, oral interpretation and acting.
Vilonia also received an award of excellent in choral reading.
