The Gay Christians class of the young people’s department of the First Baptist Sunday school, Mra. Faye Lasley, teacher, had a "potluck" breakfast and business meeting this morning at the home of Miss Mary Josephine Crafton on Oliver Street. The table was centered with a bouquet of mixed summer flowers and covers were placed for Mrs. Lasley, Misses Paulette Presson, Myrtle Lee Turner, Louis Turner, Geraldine Ethridge and Mary Josephine Crafton.

Two Conway residents were winners in contests staged at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at its annual bazaar in Morrilton last night.
They were Peter P. Hiegel, who won one-quarter of a beef, and Miss Teresa Nahlen, who was awarded a cooler box.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Fowler, residents of Faulkner Nursing Center, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary yesterday with the renewal of their nuptial vows. The Rev. Don Chandler, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Conway, officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Fowler are formerly of the New Home community near Quitman. They were married Aug. 24, 1916, at the home of the late Justice of the Peace J. F. Thomas of Quitman. Mrs. Fowler is the former Velma Karber of Quitman. The Fowlers are parents of five children: Winfred and Harry Fowler of Conway, Floyd Fowler of North Little Rock, Quentin Fowler of Little Rock and Barbara Gentry of Mabelvale. They have 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Conway prosecuting attorney for the 20th Judicial District H.G. Foster has been appointed to the Arkansas Bar Association’s Membership Development Committee. The committee works to increase association membership through a variety of activities and recommends improvements in member development efforts.
