For the fourth time this year, members of the Conway Police Department are investigating an armed robbery at a Dollar General store.
According to La Tresha Woodruff, public information officer with the department, the most recent robbery occurred Sunday night at the Dollar General store located at 2125 Harkrider St.
This marks the second time this location has been robbed in three months.
"An employee at the store told our investigators that she heard the bell indicating that someone had come in the store and as she was trying to see the person, she was grabbed from behind," Woodruff said. "The employee said she did not see the suspect’s gun because he had it pressed against her neck as they both walked to the back of the store to find the manager."
The manager was in the rest room at the time of the robbery and came out when the employee knocked on the door. The suspect took the women into the office and held the gun on the employee while the manager got the cash from the safe. When the suspect had the cash, he told the women not to call the police and ran from the store.
The suspect is described as black male with light colored eyes. He was wearing a dark colored sweat shirt and had a red bandana over his face and was carrying a messenger type bag.
Woodruff stated that while investigators are not saying that the suspect in this crime is also the same suspect from the previous robbery, they are not ruling out the possibility that they may be searching for one suspect for both crimes.
Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to call Det. Sarah Ault at 450-6120 or text a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using keyword "Conway".
