Attendance at the Conway theater yesterday was the best Sunday crowd in two years, Manager J.J. Kane reported today. Patrons were forced to stand during part of the first performance of "Swing Time," featuring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and the second matinee performance was witnessed by an almost capacity crowd.

Manager Kane also expressed satisfaction with the attendance at the Grand theatre, which re-opened Saturday.

"Swing Time" plays at the Conway again today and tomorrow and "Trail of the Lonesome pine" is on for two more days at the Grand.

Conway White raced out to a 14-0 halftime advantage but was unable to put the Benton Warriors away until late in winning its Central Arkansas Conference junior high football opener 21-6 Thursday night at John McConnell Stadium.

A 13-play, 91-yard drive on their opening possession, capped by a 7-yard run by Rudy Patrick, was enough for the Kittens to pick up their fourth win of the season against one defeat.
