SEARCY — Conway Christian secured a second-place conference finish in volleyball this week, downing St. Joseph, 25-17, 25-21, 25-21, then losing to Harding Academy 25-12, 24-26, 25-19, 25-12 in the finals of the conference tournament here.
Against St. Joseph, Morgan May had 12 kills, two blocks and two aces. Olivia Meriweather had 10 kills and eight digs. Payton Coope had seven kills, 11 digs and three aces. Robbi Riggs had four kills. Sumerlin Criswell had 14 digs and 27 assists. Emily HIll had 14 digs and two aces.

May and Howell added two blocks. Hill had 21 digs, Meriweather 19, Criswell, 13, Cope, 12 and Regan Bell, seven. May had two aces and Criswell 32 assists.

"We played the best we have ever played in the game against St. Joseph," CCS coach Brittany Newberry said. "The win was great for us securing our spot in the state tournament. We love playing teams like Harding Academy because of their caliber of play. They make you work hard for every point. We came short of the win, but ended up second in conference. I’m very proud of my team and we look forward to next week at the state tournament."
