More than 1,800 runners took part in the Braswell and Son Soaring Wings Half Marathon held Saturday morning. Runners braved the cool tempatures to come out and raise money for the ranch. Organizers will use the funds to help with operating expenses and scholarships for college and vocational training for graduates of the ranch.

The ranch houses children who have been removed from their families through no fault of their own. They currently have 16 residents.
