Mrs. Earl A. Sims of Conway has been awarded a certificate of recipe endorsement by Better Homes and Gardens for her recipe, "peaches a la princess." This certificate, which brings national recognition to Mrs. Sims, is given to distinguished recipes which pass its tasting-test kitchen’s high standards for dependability, excellence of taste and family usefulness. In addition to the signed certificate, Mrs. Sims also received six copies of her endorsed recipe.

Bob Brown of Alhambra, Calif., father of television star Robert Lansing, is in Conway visiting his cousins, Mrs. Thomas E. Allison, and Mr. Allison, and John W. McCracken, and Mrs. McCracken.

A family dinner was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allison and their aunt, Mrs. J. H. Mayhew. Guests also include Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McCracken of Greenbrier. 

Bruce Brown, 10, accompanied his father to Conway.

Lansing, 33, stars as Steve Carella in the "87 Precinct" series which is seen locally on Station KARK from 8 to 9 o’clock each Monday night.

The elder Brown, now in the realty business in Monterey Park, Calif., was born in Conway, but grew up in Sevier County, Arkansas. He attended Hendrix College. He has lived in California the past 30 years.

Bob Lansing played on Broadway in New York for 10 years before going into television. His first big break came in "Stalag 17."

Lansing and his wife and son, Bobby, 4, live in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Greenbrier Junior High finished its season with a 7-1 mark with a 22-0 victory over Bald Knob last night at Bald Knob.

In the first quarter, Joey Gibbs scored for the Panthers on a 12-yard run. Elvis Easterwood ran for a two-point conversion. Easterwood broke on a 65-yard scoring run in the second quarter. Gibbs ran for the conversion.

In the fourth quarter, Gibbs scored on a 35-yard run.

Both Conway freshmen football squads closed the season with victories at Russellville on Tuesday in Central Arkansas Junior High Conference playoff action.

The Conway White team defeated Russellville West 24-8 to win the conference championship.

The Conway Blue team up its first win over the year, 20-14 over Russellville East.
