The Conway City Council will consider an ordinance that will refund the 2006 franchise fee revenue improvement bonds during its meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the District Court Building.
The council will look at the proposal, which would authorize the issuance and sale of about $4.5 million in bonds. Those bonds would refund the bonds purchased in 2006. Those bonds were purchased in order to finance the costs of acquiring, constructing, extending and equipping certain improvements to the city’s wastewater and electric systems and certain roadway infrastructure. The bonds also helped finance improvements within the city’s Meadows Industrial Park and Gus Murphy Industrial Park.
The amount of the 2006 bonds currently sits at $4.4 million.
The council will also consider the nominations of Ray Kordsmeier and Mike Kraft to the Advertising and Promotion Commission. Kraft would take over a tourism industry position, and Kordsmeier would take over an at-large position. Each term will be four years.
In other business, the council will:
• consider setting public hearings for two matters in community development. One would change the name of Ridge Road to Pike Ridge. The other would propose the closing of a 10-foot utility easement located in the Conway Marketplace East Phase 2.
• consider entering into an easement agreement with The Village of Hendrix for property referred to as the Watershed.
•consider an ordinance appropriating issuance proceeds to the Conway Sanitation Department.
•consider to accept bids for two commercial front load refuse trucks and two commercial rear load refuse trucks for the sanitation department.
• consider a request to paint Engine 10 pink for promotional purposes to raise awareness of cancer.
•consider a request by Cresthaven Property Owner’s Association to use excess Water District Improvement Funds for improvements to Mill Pond Road.
•consider an ordinance to adopt and require an event permit application for special events on city property.
