HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Miss University of Central Arkansas has picked up the Preliminary Presence and Poise in Evening Gown award as preliminary competition in the Miss Arkansas Pageant continues in Hot Springs.

Twenty-one-year-old Morgan Holt of Conway won an $800 scholarship for her victory Thursday night.

The Preliminary Artistic Expression in Talent award and an $800 scholarship was given to Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas Brooke Ault, a Little Rock resident who won for her vocal rendition of "Maybe Next Time."

Miss Northwest Arkansas Sarah Elise Gafvert and Miss Greater Little Rock Bethany Whitfield tied for the Lifestyle and Fitness in Swimsuit Preliminary Award. The 21-year-old Gafvert and the 23-year-old Whitfield each won $800 scholarships.

The preliminary competition will continue Friday, and the pageant winner will be crowned Saturday night.
