Smart911, a free national database that gives 9-1-1 dispatchers and first responders critical rescue information about a person in the event of an emergency, is now available to residents of Conway and Faulkner County.

Smart911 will provide information tailored individuals using a "smart safety profile."

Users can register their own private profiles online at

In the event of an emergency, that information will be made available to 9-1-1 dispatchers in the Conway Emergency Operations Center and emergency responders.

Users are given the

option to provide information including directions to and pictures of their residence, pictures of family members and information on medical histories.

"The Smart911 system will be much easier to use than the premise alert system we currently use," said AJ Gary, Conway police chief. "It will make it easier for citizens to make critical information about individuals in their home available to dispatchers and will be especially helpful for those who have family members with disabilities so that their information can be relayed to first responders as they arrive on scene."

Smart911 is a free and secure service that has been paid for by the State of Arkansas. The service will be available statewide within the next year.

Anyone with questions or needing help signing up can contact the Conway Police Department at 513-3583.
