A man at 1655 block of Dave Ward Drive (Gulf gas station) contacted officers on Tuesday after he said he "did something stupid," causing his girlfriend to wreak havoc on his 2006 Nissan Altima.
The man told police he and his girlfriend were sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot of the gas station while his girlfriend was on the phone with the father of her children, attempting to make arrangements for visitation.
The man said the father of the children did not want to pick up them up, which angered his girlfriend, who then threw her cell phone at the windshield, causing it to crack.
The man said he then became very angry and got out of the car, walking westbound on Dave Ward Drive. The man said he then "did something stupid," when he called his girlfriend’s number and "broke up with her."
The woman told her boyfriend that she was going to "destroy his car even more."
The man advised that when he returned to his vehicle several minutes later, his vehicle was damaged and the woman was gone.
The man pointed out damage he alleged was inflicted by his girlfriend, including the crack in the windshield, a crack on the face of the vehicle’s radio, glass busted out of the rear window and several deep scratches to the passenger side doors and the passenger side roof of the vehicle.
According to the report, it also appeared that someone had attempted to tear off the license plate and break out the front and rear passenger side windows, which also had damage.
The man told police he believes the woman used his Remington pocket knife, which was in the back seat, to cut the car seats.
Police took photos of the damage to accompany the report.
