A movie-goer is without a pet this week after leaving the pooch in a car outside of the movie theater on Sunday.

According to a police report, the dog was left in a silver van with Ohio tags in a handicapped parking space outside of the theater in 90-degree weather.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the reporting party, who advised she noticed the dog in the van as she was walking into the movie theater at 1:30 p.m.

When she came back out of the movie theater, she noticed the dog was still in the vehicle.

The van’s front windows were rolled down halfway. An officer said he looked inside of the van, but did not see any water source for the dog. Several people stopped to give the animal water to drink from their cups as they were walking by.

An animal control officer arrived at the scene and took possession of the dog. The owner of the animal never came out of the movie theater.

Later when an officer drove by, the van was gone.
