A resident of 3430 block of Irby Drive contacted police just before 1 a.m. on Monday to report that a white male had taken the screen off of their apartment window, moving from the window to the door.
An officer made contact with the man, whom they observed knocking on the resident's door. When asked what he was doing, the man reportedly replied, "The festival. The frog festival."
The man's pants were unzipped and his shirt was "soaked with sweat." The officer noted the man "smelled of intoxicants and had slurred speech."
The officer asked the man if he was a resident at the apartment complex and he advised that he was and that his identification was inside. The man then knocked on the door again and the officer asked if he lived there by himself. The man told officers that he had a roommate.
The officer then asked the man for identification and he procured his driver's license from his pocket.
The man told the officer that he lived at apartment number 2002. The man was knocking on the door of apartment number 2302.
The officer asked the man if anyone was home as he knocked on the door again and he replied that he "lived alone."
The man was placed under arrest for public intoxication and was transported to jail. He was issued a citation and was given a September court date.
