About 400 teachers gathered between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. Friday to see what Conway businesses had to offer during the eighth annual Teachers' Fair at Ruth Doyle Middle School.

"It's kind of a time to thank [teachers] for what they do," said Mary Margaret Satterfield, director of events for the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce.

About 75 venders — an increase over last year — presented their services and goods to teachers, Satterfield said. The idea is to let people know what is in Conway, she said.

Teachers won prizes and got goodies. Breakfast was served early in the morning.

By 9:45 a.m., most of the booths were dismantled and carried away. Several people from Conway Corporation, the presenting sponsor every year since the fair began, broke down their display and carted it to trucks.

"I think it went really well," said Satterfield, adding teachers enjoyed the event. "Every year it's been a success, and it continues to get larger every year."
