The Faulkner County Quorum Court will consider a purchase of land from Justice of the Peace Charles Prince during its regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Faulkner County Courthouse.

The proposal to purchase several duplexes along Faulkner Street was approved by the finance and administration committee. The consideration would allow the county to purchase four lots on Faulkner Street across from the county judge’s building from JP Charles Prince, who is the sole owner of the properties. The committee will decide whether the purchase will be considered "unusual circumstances" and in the "best interest of the county."

According to proposed Ordinance 12-20, "the quorum court recognizes the need for expansion in order to provide adequate accommodations for county occupants while being good stewards of county moneys, and the purchase of real property which is adjacent to the courthouse complex promotes the long term goals of the county."

JPs will also consider an ordinance establishing and orderly system for utility requirements and plat mapping requirements involving 9-1-1 property addressing for Faulkner County, as well as the transfer and appropriation of funds within county departments.
