Registration for the 7th annual Faulkner County Alzheimer’s Walk benefitting Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services will be held Monday, Sept. 24.

Anyone wishing to register an individual or team needs to do so between 2-7 p.m. at The Carpet Center, 564 Harkrider. People coming to this registration will be able to pick up two door prize tickets instead of one given out the day of the event. Also anyone wanting a t-shirt from the day’s event should bring $25.00 and what size they need to be able to pick them up Monday as well.

The Walk will be held Saturday September 29th starting at 8 a.m. at the Conway Expo and Fairgrounds. This is a symbolic walk to raise donations and awareness for Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. All money raised stays in Arkansas with 92 percent going directly to programs and services.

Approximately 100,000 Arkansans are suffering with Alzheimer’s now. Until a cure is found Alzheimer’s Arkansas Programs and Services is dedicated to helping the people that are most often forgotten, the caregivers and families. Alzheimer’s doesn’t just affect the person with the disease it disrupts the lives of everyone from the spouse, to children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren.

Breakfast items will be available at the Walk as well as door prizes, giveaways, and a t-shirt contest for any of the teams with matching shirts. Little Rock School District communications director Pamela Smith will be the emcee. For further information about registration or the Walk please contact Melissa Longing 501-733-2457 or
